HOME

Original air date: 09/25/1987.

Filming for this episode was primarily conducted from 08/13/1987 through 08/21/1987.

The episode starts out in a nice conference room where C+T arrive with a warrant. This was filmed on location in a building we see the exterior of in the opening montages of the first 4 episodes (with the Pilot counted as episode 1). Then the Interterra Building, now the Colonial Bank Building located at 1200 Brickell Avenue. This scene was filmed on the 14th floor as we discover as Crockett walks past the elevator.

The scenery out the window quickly reveals this location. In the screen capture above we see Virginia Key in the distant background. Below we see the Greenberg Traurig Building out the window.

Crockett walks by elevator indicating 14th floor.

1001 Brickell Bay Drive seen in background.

The former 1111 Brickell Bay Drive seen in background.

Goof: Mosca lights what is suppose to be a U.S. bill on fire but even on the poor resolution televisions in the 80’s it did not look real.

Then we cut to the interior of the courtroom. As time goes by I have grown to like this episode more and more especially the cinematography, but this scene really bothers me in that Crockett and Tubbs are Miami Vice Officers but here they have somehow become Federal Law Enforcement Agents working on a federal case and in a federal courtroom. A major goof but the Federal seal is clearly seen behind the Judge. This was filmed on location at the David W. Dyer Federal Building and Post Office, 300 NE 1st Avenue in Miami. We see the exterior of this building in episode 25, Out Where The Buses Don’t Run.

Then we see the opening montage. This is the same opening montage that we saw throughout most of season 3 and it will remain throughout season 4.

Act 1 opens with Crockett and Tubbs arriving inside the OCB. This was filmed on set within Stage A at Greenwich Studios.

Then we see Mosca doing a walk and talk. This was filmed on the south side of West Flagler Street opposite the Miami Dade Cultural Center at 101 W. Flagler Street. In the background we see the location where Mary is taking Healey to the Architecture exhibit in the movie, There’s Something About Mary.

As seen in, There’s Something About Mary.

Then we go to Jimmy DePalma’s house. This was very likely filmed at 2515 Flamingo Drive in Miami Beach but I have not seen inside the home yet to confirm this. Location unconfirmed.

Then we go to visit Jack at Tommy’s boatyard. Filmed on location at Tommy’s Boatyard. Sadly this boatyard is long gone. It was located on the south bank of the Miami River in Downtown Miami where Brickell On The River is now located. 61 SE 5th Street. In the screen capture below right we see the rear of the Miami Convention Center.

Then we return to the courtroom. This was also filmed at the David W. Dyer Federal Building which we saw in the teaser.

Then we cut to the beach where C+T are visiting Jack and his son to convince Jack to go into hiding. This was filmed in the 7800 block of Miami Beach. Very near the beach scenes from Definitely Miami.

Then we see Jack talk with his son just off the beach. This was filmed at the rear of 7837 Atlantic Way on Miami Beach.

Next we return to the courtroom. Filmed on location at the David W. Dyer Federal Building.

Then we cut briefly to the interior of the OCB. Filmed on set in the studio.

Then we see the jurors leaving the Courthouse under protection. For this we have switched courthouses as this was filmed on the west side of the Dade County Courthouse on SW 1st Avenue. This is not the same exit we saw Lombard drive out of at the end of episode 22, Lombard. This exit is on the opposite side of the building.

Then we cut to the interior of the Stephen P. Clark Center located at 111 NW 1st Street. We first saw this location in the teaser of episode 8, The Great McCarthy where Izzy tries to hide under the same escalator we see used here. The building was still being constructed when they filmed The Great McCarthy but it had been completed by the time they filmed this episode.

As seen in The Great McCarthy

Then we see a juror being watched as he arrives at his car. He arrives from the west and his car is parked at the south end of the lot that is on the NW corner of NW 1st Street and NW 1st Avenue by the County Courthouse.

Then we see a reporter on television outside the Dade County Courthouse.

Mosca is watching the television inside his jail cell.

Filming location unknown.

Then we see Crockett and Carson talking with a potential witness. Her office is surprisingly in the same office building as Mosca’s office. Her office is just on the west side of the building while his is on the east side of the 14th floor. Filmed on location at 1200 Brickell Avenue.

Not the exact same office.

Then we cut back to the interior of the courtroom. This was filmed on location inside the main courtroom of the David W. Dyer Federal Building.

Here we see one of the worst special effects in the series rivaling the explosion in Made For Each Other. The envelope is placed on the desk. Then smoke appears from the side of the desk, clearly not from the envelope. Then the envelope explodes revealing a protective plate now on the desk.

Then we return to Mosca’s cell. Location unknown.

Then we return to the courtroom to see Sonny testify. Filmed on location in the same courtroom at the David W. Dyer Federal Building.

Next, we cut to Jack’s home. This was filmed on location at 7837 Atlantic Way, Miami Beach.

Then we cut to the jail where Crockett is already being held and Jack is arriving. Location unknown.

Then we see Tubbs arrive at the Judge’s house with Carson. The arrival at the house was filmed on location at 2580 Flamingo Drive, Miami Beach.

Then we see them walking in the back. This is not the same residence. They have crossed the street and moved down to 2505 Flamingo Drive. 1 house south of the house I believe they used as Jimmy Depalma’s.

Then we see Tubbs and Carson driving. This was filmed on location. Tubbs has taken exit 2A from 95 northbound and is headed toward US 1. First we see 201 West Flagler Street in the background.

They continue east to the Bank of America Tower. The same route we saw C+T take in the nice panning shot in Lend Me An Ear.

Then we return to the jail where Jack does not make it out. Filming location unknown.

Then we return to Jack’s house. Filmed on location at 3837 Atlantic Way, Miami Beach.

Then we return to the Dyer Federal Building for court.

Intercut we see them all go to the jurors car parked in the same lot we saw earlier,at the NW corner of the intersection of NW 1st Street and NW 1st Avenue.

Then they walk out of the court and make a brief statement. For this they have moved from the Dyer Federal Building down to the Dade County Courthouse at 73 Flagler Street. They are on the north steps.

Jack’s son Terry goes after Mosca on these northern steps threatening to shoot him, reminiscent of the end of No Exit.

The episode ends here.
